Amanda Kehoe visits the Rathmichael Parish National School

‘TJ and his Wheelable Chair’ author Amanda Kehoe visits the Rathmichael Parish National School in Dublin, Ireland on 18th May 2018, Friday. She read to the pupils and speak about her book and the inspiring main character. The children were so engaging and the author had a wonderful chat about how disabilities are no barrier to a happy and fulfilling life.
The protagonist of the wonderfully heartwarming story is TJ.
He isn’t able to walk or talk to people around him. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t enjoy playing with his friends.
He likes to watch and listen as his friends play.
Through the character and his life, the author delivers a beautiful message; disabilities are not a hindrance, they don’t stop anyone from having a happy life.
Amanda’s son Tadhg was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy in 2009. She gave up work to care for him.
He became the inspiration behind her book.
She currently resides in Newbridge with her husband and 3 kids
